KIM HICKS' CV
Apart from one woman performances Kim has enjoyed an interestingly varied career. She has read poems and short stories on various programmes for Radio 4. Theatre work includes Viola in Twelfth Night for Derby Playhouse, Nora in A Dolls House and Solveig and The Green Clad Woman in Peer Gynt for Actors Touring Company, Klara in Stars in the Morning Sky for Show of Strength Theatre Company, Hazel in Up'n Under for Wythenshaw Forum and The Midwife in The Choice for Theatre Clwyd. Perhaps her greatest theatrical achievement to date has been in Bristol Playwrite Sheila Yeger's play Self Portrait. Kim painted live on stage, in oils (with her
canvas in full view of the audience) an entire copy of the Gwen John Self Portrait in a Red Blouse per performance! In all she has done over 100 copies of this painting, this was across 3 separate productions of the play - directed on each occasion by Annie Castledine.
T.V. appearances include playing Jessie Broun in The Master of Ballentrae (where she rolled in the hay with Michael York and during one take that has never since seen the light of day actually managed to knock him unconscious!); work for H.T.V. playing a Doctor Who type villainess in a children's T.V. drama called The Golden Conch opposite one man show veteran Chris Harris; and more recently she worked with Brenda Fricker in Just Like Eddie. Many years ago there was even a stint on Crossroads!
Though not yet having 'broken into' films in a big way you can see a very brief big screen
appearance in that charming Jewish comedy Leon the Pig Farmer.
